The Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz invites applications for a full-time, permanent position as a
Professor of Sociology with a focus on Digitalization, New Media, and Industrial Development
to begin immediately.
The main research areas will include analyzing digitalization and the use of new media. The focus is to be on application-oriented industrial research. The successful candidate will conduct research under the headings of Industry 4.0, Work 4.0, and the future of work as well the impact of digitization on different areas of life, such as work and family, media and the public, and more. The successful candidate will possess interdisciplinary and international work experience, present a list of publications in the field of research as well as possess project experience on topics of real-world relevance. In addition to international experience, the successful candidate should also be locally knowledgeable as project collaboration with social partners, companies, the local government, and local civil society have a history of tradition at the JKU and candidates must show potential to continue developing these areas.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively take part in developing the academic content for degree programs offered at the Institute for Sociology and related departments. In addition, the successful candidate will actively take part in creating new, interdisciplinary teaching programs.
Based on a voluntary basis agreement regarding salary, there is minimum salary according to the collective agreement. Contingent upon the current position (present salary) is an annual gross salary (minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement plus voluntary additional payments) of € 80,000 to €100,000.
