The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz announces a tenured faculty opening for a university professor in Anatomy and Cell Biology in accordance with § 98 Sec. 1 of the Austrian Universities Act.

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a private law employment position as

Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to represent and further develop the field of anatomical research, teaching and advance medical training to its full extent.  The professorship includes managing the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology


General Information

The successful candidate must hold a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or a comparable, internationally recognized post-doctorate qualification) in the above-mentioned field. Please see for detailed information about the position. The successful candidate should also supplement the research focus at the existing faculty.

As part of the application process, the JKU can opt to additionally assess the candidate’s qualification through an on-site visit of the applicant’s current workplace.

A net salary as stated in the university collective agreement will be offered (Pay Grade: A1). If the candidate has additional, corresponding qualifications, salary can be negotiated on an individual basis.
