The Department of Economics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria) announces an opening for a Tenure Track position in Applied Econometrics – Big Data. The candidate must hold a Doctorate/PhD degree.
In accordance with the collective agreement for employees and the Universities Act, the Department of Economics announces an opening for a full-time (40 h/week), six-year Tenure Track position at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The candidate must hold a Doctorate/PhD degree.
The position is aimed at highly qualified junior researchers who specialize and hold a Doctorate/PhD in the field of Economics/Econometrics. The position includes the possibility of a qualification agreement that may lead to a permanent position as Associate Professor (§ 99 Sec. 5 and 6 of the Universities Act) given the successful completion of the requirements stated in the agreement. Promotion to Full Professorship is possible.
The successful candidate should have an excellent academic track record before and after the Doctorate/PhD, should aim at and publish in first-rate refereed journals, and possess very good university-level teaching experience. Teaching obligations: The jobholder will participate in teaching programs at all levels and is expected to take an active role in the ongoing development of the academic programs. The usual teaching load as an Assistant Professor is four hours weekly. Teaching is usually required only during the academic year. After tenure the usual teaching load increases to eight weekly hours.
The Department of Economics offers an environment with an excellent teaching and research infrastructure (including an access to supercomputing and collaborations with providers of administrative data).
The initial minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is EUR 53,254.60 gross per year, overpayment is possible. The annual salary will rise after signing the qualification agreement to EUR 62,977.60 gross.
