Announcement of a tenure-track position "Medical Engineering" with Ph.D. (limited to 6 years, full time 40h/week) according to the collective agreement of the employees of the universities at the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) of the Johannes Kepler University Linz
In accordance with the collective agreement for employees and the Universities Act, the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) announces an opening for a full-time (40 h/week), six-year tenure-track position at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The candidate must hold a Doctorate/PhD degree. This tenure-track position is announced within the scope of the funding programme of the State of Upper Austria in cooperation with FWF for a group leader of a Young Research Group in the field of Medical Engineering (For details see https://bit.ly/2WuFbPw). In particular, it is expected that applicants who will be shortlisted, in cooperation with mentors from the JKU, will play a key role in the formulation of a project proposal to the FWF within the Young Research Group. The deadline for submitting this project proposal is April 30, 2019.
The position is designed for highly qualified young scientists with a technical focus on biomedical electronics, biomedical sensor technology, imaging, biomedical mechatronics, biomechanics, theragnostics or similar research directions and offers the possibility of concluding a qualification agreement and thus - after positive evaluation - a permanent position as an associate professor (§99 Abs. 5 und 6 UG).

Candidates are expected to develop methods that reflect the vision of an interface between biomedical and electronic/mechanical worlds. Candidates should be able to demonstrate outstanding scientific achievements and extensive experience in teaching. The successful candidate has a relevant PhD degree that should be no less than 2 and no more than 8 years old and has already worked at various scientific institutions in Austria and abroad. The minimum annual salary under the collective agreement is EUR 51,955.40 gross per year. Once the qualification agreement has been signed, the minimum annual gross salary will be EUR 61,441.80 (amounts of 2018).
