It is our aim to engineer transmembrane channels with altered stability and oligomeric states, novel selectivity and optimized permeability. To achieve these goals we

  • Perform extensive sequence- and structural-based analysis.
  • Study the molecular determinants of solute and solvent permeability through membrane channels.
  • Work on the causes and consequences of protein oligomerization.
  • Develop and refine methods for quantitative in vitro protein characterization.
