Alexander Fürlinger, one of our highly motivated bachelor students, was awarded third place at the Upper austrian "OÖ Leistungspreis 2019" award in the category Bildung & Wissenschaft. With his collegues he initiated a project that develops a method to show within a few hours whether American foulbrood is present in beehives. Their project is also participating in the "iGEM 2019 Championship", an international competition for students in the field of synthetic biology.
