The course gives an introduction in linear dynamical systems, their system theoretic analysis and control. An exercise course complements the lecture and focuses on applying the concepts and methods discussed in the lecture to simple examples.

Specifically, the following topics are covered:

• introduction to control systems
• linear time-invariant systems
• system-theoretic analysis of linear systems (stability, controllability, observability)
• design of static feedback controllers
• design of observers
• introduction to frequency-domain methods

The course is held jointly with Control Systems (in the Artificial Intelligence curriculum).
