2: Introduction to Data Collection, Analysis, Reporting in STEM Ed Research

Course Description

During the second part of the course, we will focus on collecting empirical data and data analyses. We will cover real-world issues regarding questionnaires, interviews, observation designs and their deliveries as well as various methods to analyze collected data. The course will include academic writing support and finalizing any theses and/or scientific publications. Sessions will be held on Thursdays from 1:45 - 3:15 pm for  Bachelor's/Master's/PhD students and from 3:30-5:00 pm, mainly for PhD students but those interested may also attend. In addition, you can make a individual appointment with Zsolt Lavicza on Wednesday afternoons orvThursday mornings [sign up here for an appointment]. On Friday mornings - following the Thursday sessions - we will have additional meetings between 9:00 am -12:00 pm at Altenberger Str. 54 to discuss additional topics and advanced educational research methods. Those taking part in the Thursday sessions are welcome to attend Friday sessions as well. Students outside of Linz can take part in the session via https://appear.in/jku-stem.
