Objectives
Transition from simple written texts to texts with complex level of expression. Independent work on topics and on longer, more challenging texts. Sensitisation to linguistic varieties and to the differences between standard and colloquial language.

Teaching Contents

• Production of clear and detailed texts on a variety of topics which the students has an interest in or a connection with
• Work on texts – comparison of texts – transformation of texts
• Writing of different text types: essays, reports, letters, advertisements, picture stories
• Various written competences: recounting contents, presenting advantages and disadvantages, explaining arguments and counterargument of various points of view, making personal comments
• Putting personal experiences into words
• Vocabulary acquisition, style, instrumental writing (gap filling exercises, completion exercises, spelling and grammar exercises)

Grading Criteria
Regular attendance (minimum 80%), active participation in class, written homework, intermediate tests and final exam
