Courses with costs

German as a Foreign Language courses are fee-based. The course fees apply additionally to the student union fees (approx. € 20,-). If you do not pay the student union fees, you will neither receive a certificate nor credits at the end of the semester!

You will receive a place for the selected course/s once you have paid the course fees. The course fee is € 65,- per weekly hours per semester. A course with 8 weekly hours per semester, such as German as a Foreign Language B1, costs € 520,-. You can pay online with online banking, credit card, PayPal or with direct debit transaction. Only by paying the course fee the place in the course is secured.

Switching courses after registration is not possible!

Information for registration

To register for a German language course you must already be enrolled as a JKU student and have admission for studying (Zulassungsbescheid zum Studium). You need a student ID number and your Kepler Card (student card). You can find the dates for the period of enrollment here, öffnet eine externe URL in einem neuen Fenster.

If you study at another Austrian university or college of education you can register at JKU as “MitbelegerIn”.

Since the summer term 2019 students are required to have a German language knowledge of at least A2. For the course registration on KUSSS during registration period students need to be unlocked for registration for their respective language level. Therefore, please send us your langauage certificate (document should be max. 2 years old) as proof of your language proficiency and we will unlock registration for you.

You can register for courses online on KUSSS (kusss.jku.at, öffnet eine externe URL in einem neuen Fenster) during registration period from February 15 - 26, 2021, 11:59 pm.

Please use your User ID (k + student number) and your e-directory password for the login. You can find our German courses by searching for “German” under the point “LVA-Suche”.

After you have chosen a course you need to pay the course fee via the MUSSS-online shop to secure your place in the course. Once you have paid the course you will be directly assigned to it, as long as there is still capacity available.

 

Curriculum German preparation program

The modules are consecutive and cannot be taken simultaneously.  

Attention! Students of the University Preparation Program for German, who are registered at JKU since summer semester 2019, need to pass all three courses of the previous level to be able to move to consecutive level.
