Development.

History

A chair for Roman Law was introduced at the University of Social and Economic Sciences in Linz during the Winter Semester 1967/68, held by Prof. Dr. Marianne Meinhart (post-doctorate obtained in Vienna under Prof. Kreller).

In 1975, Prof. Dr. Peter Apathy became the second independent expert in Roman Law and in 1977, he was appointed a full professor of Roman and Civil Law (professor emeritus since the Winter Semester 2016).

During the Winter Semester 1991, Prof. DDr. Georg Klingenberg (from Graz) succeeded Marianne Meinhart as Full Professor of Roman Law (Professor emeritus 2012, July 21, 2016).
