Curriculum Vitae

Jonas Albrecht studied History with a focus on Global Economic History, Urban History and Food History at the University of Vienna from 2007 onwards and graduated with distinction in 2013. From 2013 to February 2017, he worked in cultural management at the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft and in 2016 as a lecturer at the Institute for Economic and Social History at the University of Vienna, before moving to the Institute for Social and Economic History at the Johannes Kepler University Linz as a university assistant in March 2017.

During this time, a research grant from the Department of Culture of the City of Vienna (MA7) and travel grants from the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna enabled him to draft a research project on the food supply of the city of Vienna in the 19th century, as well as his first publications and lectures.

Jonas Albrecht is a member of the European Rural History Organisation (EURHO), the European Association for Urban History (EAUH) as well as the founding board of the EHCA - Environmental History Cluster Austria / Netzwerk Umweltgeschichte Österreich and currently a reviewer for Business History (Taylor & Francis).

His research focuses on global history, urban history, history of the Habsburg Monarchy, food history and environmental history in the period of the 18th and 19th centuries.
