Implementation of a Library Program CE-Biblio+ using Workflow and Usability Methods

This thesis deals with the creation of library software for the Institute of Business Informatics - Communications Engineering at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The workflows associated with the institute's library are analyzed and adapted using the "Workflow Modeling" method presented by Sharp/McDermot. To design the user-friendliness of the user interface, the guidelines presented by Nielsen in "Usability Engineering" are applied.
The software is implemented using servlets and JavaServerPages. A MySQL database is used as the database. As the institute already had an application before this work was written, the data from the existing system was transferred to the new data structure.
