B3 Doctoral School.

The Johannes Kepler University Linz, the University of Education in Upper Austria, the Alpen-Adria-University Klagenfurt, and the University of Education Vorarlberg have launched a cooperative doctoral program ('Doctoral School') focusing on "School Development Counsultancy", "Out of Field Teaching", and "Early School Leavers".

Educational Innovation Needs Educational Research

Following a competitive call for proposals as part of the BMBWF initiative 'Educational Innovation Needs Educational Research (B3)' (to OEAD, opens an external URL in a new window) a consortium at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), the Universities of Education of Upper Austria, and Vorarlberg (PHOÖ, PH V), as well as the Alpen Adria Universität Klagenfurt (AAU) have been commissioned with implementing cooperative doctoral degree programs ('Doctoral Schools') focusing on "School Development Consulting", "Out of Field Teaching", and "Early School Leavers".

In this regard, would would like to invite applications for 14 open doctoral positions (a three-year period of employment, 30/hours per week, at universities, and similar employment at teacher training colleges).

During this period, you will be able to compose an independent dissertation focusing on one of the above-mentioned topics in communication with co-supervisors and educators at the 'Doctoral School', disseminate your research findings for collegial discussion, and present your findings at conferences, while also becoming experienced during your first year of university-level teaching.

The 'Doctoral School' was established as part of the funding based on the doctoral degree program, "PhD in Education" at the JKU and provides goal-oriented support for respective PhD projects by pffering special events for doctoral candidates, as well as by university faculty members from participating institutions, and external guest researchers.

Target Group

Graduates in the corresponding Diploma degree or Master's degree programs (teacher education degree, educational sciences, or a comparable degree related to social sciences, such as sociology, psychology, etc.) who wish to write a dissertation (PhD in Education) on the topics of "School Development Counseling", "Non-Specialized Teaching" or "Early School Leavers" as part of the Doctoral Schools, and in communication with co-supervisors, university faculty members, and guest researchers.
