Illustration of Generic Models on Topic Maps

Process models serve different purposes. On the one hand, they can help to better understand a process; on the other hand, they enable the improvement and reengineering of processes. The majority of current modeling approaches focus on the perspective of system designers and software rather than on an intuitive and comprehensible design or representation of mental models of modelers.

Tangible interfaces are intended to simplify process modeling by providing participants with an intuitive way of modeling. The aim of this work is a software framework that enables the mapping of physical objects to (virtual) elements of topic maps with the help of tangible interfaces. This goal is pursued as an example for the application domain of process modeling.
