Tutorial at ICASSP 2019

Together with my colleagues Andreas Arzt and Meinard Müller, we gave a tutorial about "Cross-Modal Music Retrieval and Applications" at the ICASSP 2019 in Brighton, UK. The slides and more information about the content can be found here, opens an external URL in a new window.

Exhibit: The Listening Machine

In the new and completely remodeled Ars Electornica Center (AEC) in Linz, we were asked to provide an exhibit for sound understanding in the context of Machine Learning. Together with my colleagues Florian Henkel, Matthias Dorfer, Alexander Moser, and Gerhard Widmer, as well as UI support from the AEC, we created an interactive interface which lets visitors explore the capabilites and–more importantly–the limitations of current machine listening systems. More information here, opens an external URL in a new window, code for the backend part is available on GitHub, opens an external URL in a new window.

Exhibit: Con Espressione!

In a cooperation with Imaginary we created an exhibit for the exhibition "La La Lab - The Mathematics of Music", opens an external URL in a new window, located in Heidelberg, Germany. Together with my colleagues Carlos Eduardo Cancino-Chacon, Florian Henkel, and Gerhard Widmer, we created an interactive interface which allows users –in co-operation with an AI component–to create expressive musical performances. All details and code for reproduction can be found here, opens an external URL in a new window.
