Relaxed atmosphere at the final event of the research projects

Last Wednesday July 7, 2021, the research projects of the summer semester 2021 at the Institute of Business Informatics - Information Engineering were summed up with a festive closing event. After the event was held as a "virtual project fair" in the past two semesters, this semester about 90 students and research partners could be invited on campus.

The event was held in the open space between Science Park 2-3. The JKU Band provided the musical background. After the opening speeches by Prof.in Dr.in Krumay and Lektor Dr. Rückel, the students presented their research results. At the beginning of the semester, the students were divided into groups and project topics were conceptualized. Once again, many interested partners from industry were recruited to carry out the research projects. The project results of the 10 groups were prepared in the form of posters and management papers. The following projects were presented:

  • Decide-O-Bot
  • Developing and Evaluating an IT Balanced Scorboard
  • SOC in Critical Infrastructure
  • Novel Features for Digital Communication
  • Information systems for a student dormitory
  • Current importance of the M-A-T system
  • Changing Information Management through Digitalization
  • Test automation of the service platform of a private bank
  • Analysis of operational data of IOT devices and development of innovative use cases for users
  • Recommendations for the implementation of knowledge management

As a result of the exciting topics and comprehensible presentations of the results, extensive discussions developed between the participants. The students were not only able to present their competencies and share their experiences, but also to receive direct feedback from the attendees. Afterwards, the guests were able to exchange ideas over a snack, make professional contacts, think about new projects and end the evening with a cold drink. In summary, the closing event was a superior format for interactive exchange.

The Institute of Business Informatics - Information Engineering would like to sincerely thank all students, project partners, administration and technology. We are looking forward to our next event in the winter semester 2022!
