The ZONTA STEM Award.

Together with the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the ZONTA Club Linz is proud to present the annual ZONTA STEM Award

The ZONTA STEM Award supports and promotes a talented, outstanding, and particularly motivated female student currently enrolled in a technical degree program. The award is accompanied with € 2,500 in prize money.

The application period for the 11th annual ZONTA STEM Award is open now.

The ZONTA Club Linz is an international service club of professional women serving to empower women through service & advocacy and improve their legal, professional and social status (http://www.zontaclub-linz.at/, opens an external URL in a new window).

Information to Apply for the 2024 ZONTA STEM Award

In cooperation with the JKU, ZONTA Club has presented the ZONTA Award (endowed with € 2,500 in prize money) annually since 2014. The award supports particularly committed young women in STEM degree programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) who, in addition to their studies, are also socially engaged.

 

Application requirements:

  • Women enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD programs in STEM fields from the third semester onwards, not graduating before May 2024
  • Proof of a planned (finalized application), or already completed stay abroad (semester or internships)
  • Active in social work and community involvement, for example, providing academic advising at schools, actively taking part in social projects, charitable work, etc.
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement

 

Please submit the following:

  • an informal electronic application, including a current CV
  • a letter of intent (max. 500 words): introduce the specific professional interest(s) that resulted in enrolling in your selected major, introduce your ideas and visions regarding future professional commitment, describe your social and community involvement.
  • a confirmation of enrollment issued by the university
  • certificates of educational qualification
  • signed supplementary sheet “Reporting Requirement to Process Personal Information as part of Call for Applications for the 11th ZONTA STEM Award” (the information sheet and the data privacy policy for the 11th ZONTA STEM Award are available below)

 

Submit your application to the Department of Human Resource Development, Gender & Diversity Management at the JKU Linz to: gd(at)jku.at by no later than January 31, 2024.

 

After (confidentially) viewing all of the submitted applications, the jury may choose to invite a shortlist of candidates to a personal meeting. The ZONTA Club Linz will announce the award winner by e-mail.

The on-site awards ceremony to present the award (endowed with € 2,500 in prize money) is scheduled for Summer 2024. Additional details will be available shortly.
