On Tuesday, October 17th, the farewell to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Birgit Feldbauer-Durstmüller from the Institute of Management Control and Consulting, which she headed from 2005 to the end of September 2023, was celebrated. The opening words were from Assoz. Prof. Dr. Stefan Mayr, who described the academic life of Univ.-Prof. Feldbauer-Durstmüller and praised her achievements for the institute. He particularly emphasized the interdisciplinary and value-focused orientation that the institute had experienced under her leadership.

Afterwards, A. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christine Duller presented the anthology “Controlling in Family Businesses” that gave the event its title, which was published on the occasion of the retirement of Univ.-Prof. Feldbauer-Durstmüller by the Institute of Management Control and Consulting. In this, several of their long-time academic companions shed light on the for Univ.-Prof. Feldbauer-Durstmüller always decisive topic of controlling in family businesses from different perspectives. As part of the presentation of the anthology, words of thanks and anecdotes from colleagues from the past decades were also not neglected.

The final words remained with Univ.-Prof. Feldbauer-Durstmüller, who took the opportunity not only to thank everyone present, but also to particularly emphasize those who encouraged and supported her in starting her academic career.

The Institute of Management Control and Consulting and the entire Johannes Kepler University would like to thank Univ.-Prof. Dr. Birgit Feldbauer-Durstmüller for her academic achievements in the field of business administration and the innovative further development of the management control institute.
