Overcoming communication deficiencies in cross-organizational project designs can be difficult. Moreover, if there is no active process management implemented. Therefore, this research introduces a value network analysis in the Geomarketing department of a mid-sized telecommunication company. To leverage the potential of a communication in the selection and preparation of extension area plans for the FTTH technology, the analysis is used to identify the value network and clarify all communication flows. With the use of the value network analysis, Hot Spots in the network can be detected and a to-be situation can be illustrated. Furthermore, the to-be situation is transformed into a subject-oriented process diagram, to easily show the value network. To evaluate the found Hot Spots and the process diagram, a questionnaire is conducted.
