From November 7 to 30, 2023, the Entwicklungspolitischen Hochschultage (Development Policy University Weeks) will take place in Salzburg and Linz. In this context, 2 events took place, which were organized by ICAE employees.

On Monday 20.11.2023, a workshop entitled "Capitalism and Democracy in Transition: Marx, Polanyi and Schumpeter", which was led by Johanna Rath, took place. The workshop participants discussed the differences and similarities between the three economists, as well as current developments in the global economy and politics and the relevance of Marx's, Polanyi's and Schumpeter's transformation analyses for today's challenges.

On November 21, 2023, the lecture "A world full of nails": An (impact) assessment of the economics literature on energy transitions" by Matthias Aistleitner and Stephan Pühringer also took place as part of the ICAE Research Seminar. The lecture is based on the realization that economics as an academic discipline is very influential and that the channels through which economists can exert influence on political issues are complex and widespread. Based on these findings, the speakers intend to analyze the literature on the energy transition and presented first results in this context.
