Complex Analysis, Spectral Theory and Approximation meet in Linz
July 12 - 17, 2020 Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria.
The aim of this conference is to celebrate the significant impact the study of functional models of operators has had on spectral theory. We will particularly highlight applications to ergodic and almost-periodic operators, where Hardy spaces of character automorphic functions on Riemann surfaces serve as model spaces. Additionally, we will discuss the role of those complex analytic methods in approximation theory which have yielded important progress in understanding the asymptotics of Chebyshev polynomials on disconnected sets.
