About the ISE

The study of electrets and their related phenomena holds a prominent position at the intersection of fundamental scientific inquiry and technological advancement. The remarkable success of electret applications in industries has spurred exploration into new frontiers like energy harvesting, bioelectrical stimulation, and the developing soft transducers. The IEEE International Symposium on Electrets (ISE) serves as the leading event for the field, bringing scholars, scientists, engineers, and junior researchers from across the globe together. Organized by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society, the ISE provides a unique platform to support interdisciplinary exchange on the latest advancements in electret research, development, and applications.

The conference program focuses on deepening our understanding, implementation and practical application of electrets. The ISE provides a diverse range of opportunities for attendees to share their research and development progress, including technical papers and workshops. Since the ISE12 in 2005, the Bernhard Gross Memorial Lecture has been presented by an individual who, in the selection committee's opinion, has established an international reputation for sustained high quality research work in the ISE research field. In addition, the Dilip Das-Gupta awards for the best oral and poster presentation by a junior scientist are also awarded during the symposium.

Whether you are an electrical engineer, materials scientist, or a researcher in condensed matter physics and chemistry, the ISE is a valuable forum for in-depth discussions, collaboration, and connection with peers.
