Province of Upper Austria Press Conference "Make Upper Austria strong again: Presentation of the Upper Austria Plan"

On October 23, 2020, Upper Austria's governor Mag. Thomas Stelzer, together with members of the government and Prof. Teodoro D. Cocca, presented the Upper Austria Plan, endowed with 1.2 billion euros. This is a significant investment budget, which should help to find a way out of the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 virus. The upswing of the regional economy is to be massively supported in the coming years through investments in digitization, infrastructure and education. Teodoro Cocca, finance professor at the JKU Business School (Institute of Finance - Department of Asset Management) and advisor to the Upper Austrian provincial government and Gabriel Felbermayr, president of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, are among the experts who have been involved in this Upper Austria plan since the summer.

"The Upper Austrian government is sending a strong signal," Professor Cocca said at the press conference and he estimates the leverage effect of these investments at four billion euros in the long term.
