Beyond words: the art of strategy implementation

[Translate to Englisch:] RLB Gastvortrag

"Anyone can talk, it takes more to do". This adage is particularly true when it comes to implementing strategies. Ideas alone will not make change happen; they need to be implemented through pragmatic and focused action. This is where the knowledge of strategic management acquired at university is useful here.
Today's guest lecture by Daniel Dommes from Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, Operations Division, provided a striking example. He shared his valuable experience of introducing a Balanced Scorecard, which was specifically designed to support the implementation phase. The challenges of finding the right metrics, formulating tangible goals and implementing effective measures were enormous. The most important aspect, however, was the involvement of employees: taking them along on the journey, equipping them with the necessary expertise and generating their enthusiasm.
These findings underline that successful strategy implementation requires more than just theoretical knowledge - it requires commitment, adaptability and, above all, the ability to inspire and take people with you.
Let's discuss: What is your experience of strategy implementation? Have you used the Balanced Scorecard? What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
