ADMISSION

Access to the Master's degree program in Economics requires the completion of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

Students with a Bachelor's degree (or "Diplom") in Business and Economics (WiWi) from JKU can enter the Master program without further conditions. Students with a Bachelor's degree from another university, college, or other domestic or foreign institutions of post-secondary education have to fulfill the following two requirements:

1. The Bachelor's degree has to be from an accredited institute of higher education.
2. The Bachelor's degree has to contain enough ECTS in Economics. There are three routes to fulfilling the latter requirement:
   1. Students with a Bachelor's degree can access the program if the completed program contains at least 40 ECTS of Business and Economics courses (of which at least 24 ECTS in Economics) and at least 6 ECTS of Mathematics and Statistics courses.
   2. Students can start the program if their Bachelor's degree program contained at least 23 ECTS of Business and Economics and Mathematics and Statistics courses. They can fulfill the requirement of 46 ECTS in total by taking courses from the Bachelor's degree program in Economics at JKU in the first year of their Master's degree program.
   3. Students with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent can enter the Master's degree program, if their Bachelor's degree program contained at least 40 ECTS of Mathematics and Statistics courses. Upon entering the Master's degree program they must complete up to 40 ECTS of courses from the Bachelor's degree program in Economics at JKU in the first year of their Master's degree program.
3. Student have to fulfill the English language requirement for admission (Level B2).
