Funding for Entrepreneurs

Workspace funding for start-ups and young entrepreneurs

Work at the crossroads of innovation, research and business: A new funding opportunity will enable technology-oriented start-up and spin-off companioes to do just that at the LIT Open Innovation Center! There are currently 12 workspaces set aside at the Open Space of the LIT Open Innovation Center and funding partially covers the monthly usage fee for up to three workspaces per funded applicant.

Just what can the funds be used for?

  • Funding will be provided for the monthly usage fee of up to three workspaces per applicant.
  • One workstation includes an allocated workspace with a desk, chair, storage space, internet connection, and use of common areas in the Open Space, such as meeting rooms, kitchens, and sanitary facilities.
  • The amount of the funding is 50% for the first year of the designated funding period, 40% for the second year, and 30% for the third year for usage fees (excluding VAT and the index adjustment). The maximum funding period is three years starting from the date of moving into the OIC.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The company cannot have been created more than three years ago
  • Current tenancy agreement at the LIT Open Innovation Center
  • The company must have less than 50 employees (FTE); annual turnover of no more than € 10 million or an annual balance sheet total of no more than € 10 million
  • An applicant can only be funded once for the same project.
