The MED call aims to:

• support innovative projects of an inceptive, investigator-driven nature in order to generate the preliminary data required to submit follow-up projects to national and/or international funding agencies (such as the. FWF, FFG, Horizon Europe, etc.). This includes, among others, pilot and/or feasibility studies or "Proof of Principle" projects.
• funding junior researchers and scientists and/or researchers/scientists re-entering the workforce (who hold doctorate degrees) who wish to return to research activities after any career interruption in their research on account of life circumstances (such as maternity leave).

Who is eligible to apply: All employees at deparments/(clinical) institutes and clinical research institutes at the JKU, as well as those taking part in junior researcher programs (ACSP and CSP participants holding a PhD or Dr.scient.med. degree) and who have published in the proposal area.

The project duration is two years and funding in the amount of € 50,000 is available.
 

If external funding is acquired from a public funding agency based on the Impetus funding, the university hospital/institute receives € 25,000 as a research premium, which in turn will be earmarked to support research.
