University Departments and Institutes.

The Faculty of Medicine’s clinical areas include facilities and divisions that not only conduct research and are involved in medical education, they also provide patient care at the Kepler University Hospital. Employees at university teaching hospitals and clinical departments teach and conduct research at the Faculty of Medicine and are actively involved in day-to-day hospital operations. Consequently, their expertise on the latest patient treatment options and the most recent innovative research findings is continually up-to-date. University departments and clinical institutes serve as an important training and educational ground for medical students. Under the concept of "bedside teaching", future physicians are integrated into the clinic’s daily routine, undergoing clinical, real-world, problem-oriented training and instruction. The heads of a clinical departments (professors) at the Kepler University Hospital also serves as heads of the respective clinical department.

The non-clinical and pre-clinical areas of education are incorporated at the institutes at the Faculty of Medicine; they work closely together and collaborate with the Medical University of Graz.
