The OIC as an Open Innovation Hotspot

Our JKU - LIT Open Innovation Center served as a venue for the international start-up community on October 3 as the Johannes Kepler University Linz became a hotspot for Open Innovation! Together with our partner, K-Businesscom AG, we hosted the international "Start-Ups Meet Industry - Pitching Session".

Start-Ups Meet Industry

The conference brought 25 national and international start-up companies from Spain, Portugal, Iceland, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, and many more, together to share and showcase their innovative ideas as well as network with industry and business partners.

A Successful Event Within the Innovation Community
The "Start-Ups Meet Industry" conference proved just how crucial cooperation between start-up companies and industrial companies is in fostering innovation and advancing technology. We witnessed an inspiring variety of start-up companies presenting innovative solutions in various fields, ranging from artificial intelligence to renewable energy.

A conference high point included the pitching sessions by individual start-up companies, giving them an opportunity to present their ideas and products to a qualified panel as well as to potential investors. These presentations were a demonstration of the start-up scene's immense potential and creativity in terms of solving real-world business processes and problems. In addition to pitches, participants had the opportunity to learn about new technologies and developments, initiate joint collaboration efforts and projects between start-ups and companies, share their experiences, and get to know one another.

A big thank you to our partners, guests of honor, and everyone who helped to make this a truly memorable event. This is how we keep moving forward, by shaping our future together! #shapingourfuturetogether

State Councilor Achleitner remarked: "The close interaction between research, innovation and entrepreneurship is one of Upper Austria's great strengths as a business location, and there is a good reason why this conference is taking place at the JKU. After all, the JKU in particular is one of Upper Austria's innovation hotspots. Upper Austria's strength in the field of innovation is also reflected in measurable terms: As a business location, for the first time Upper Austria has ranked among the top 20 in the latest comparative ranking of EU industrial regions. This proves that the rapid transfer of innovation works."

We are particularly proud of this conference as it demonstrates Upper Austria's emergence as a center of innovation, right in the heart of Europe. We here at the LIT Open Innovation Center warmly welcome these developments and will continue to do our part to support start-up companies, business companies, and research to develop new, creative, and innovative ideas.

We would also like to thank our partners, co-organizers, and our guests of honor!
