Jens Meier

Jens Meier, MD, Professor, Dr. med., is the head of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Kepler University Hospital as well as the Chair professor of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. Prof. Meier has conducted several experimental projects in the field of circulation and oxygenation and he has led several large clinical trials within anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. His current area of research includes bleeding, coagulation, patient blood management, artificial intelligence, and data modeling to improve patient care. His publications have appeared in prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals. Prof. Meier is a member of the board of directors of NATA, holds the chair of the Scientific committee of NATA, and is a member of the research committee of the ESA. Prof. Meier lectures in Austria and abroad on topics related to anesthesiology and critical care medicine, including patient blood management and transfusion in surgical and critically ill patients, and cardiovascular physiology and the use of artificial intelligenceto improve patient care as part of anaesthesiology and intensive care. Prof. Meier completed his internship and residency at the Clinic of Anesthesiology at Ludwig Maximilians University, and at the Clinic of Anesthesiology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
