Internship of our master student Lukas Stoiber at voestalpine

[Translate to Englisch:] Lukas Stoiber

The internship at voestalpine Rohstoffbeschaffungs GmbH, organized by the JKU's Institute for Strategic Management, offers our Master's student Lukas Stoiber the unique opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in the strategic work of an international company.

voestalpine Rohstoffbeschaffungs GmbH is responsible for purchasing the raw materials and energy required for steel production in the voestalpine Group. These include iron ore and HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron), coal, coke, natural gas and electricity, refractory material as well as scrap and alloys. The procurement of scrap is of particular importance in view of the current decarbonization of the steel industry and the associated technology changeover to electric arc furnaces, as this leads to an increased demand for scrap in steel production.

In view of this development, Lukas Stoiber is working on the topics of market and industry analysis of the scrap market as part of his internship. We are delighted to be able to offer our top students such opportunities, enabling them to gain valuable practical experience and contacts.
