CAREER_MENTORING III.

In May 2022, the universities of Krems, Linz, and Salzburg will again kick off their well-established career development program for women scientists and academics based on the Mentoring III and karriere_links programs.

Participating mentees receive assistance and support to strengthen their career development plans by attending mentoring sessions and individual coaching sessions as well as seminars designed for doctoral and post-doctoral candidates. A joint program offers space to exchange ideas in various subject areas, career stages, and strengthens interuniversity networks.

The program aims increase the proportion of women in leading academic/scientific positions. The career development program has been designed to offer participating women scientists and academics opportunities to help advance their academic careers.

Target Groups

  • Employees at the university in Linz, Salzburg and Krems with at least one academic degree (Diploma degree, Master's degree, Doctorate/PhD)
  • Must be currently employed at the university
  • At least one year of work experience in a scientific/academic field (such as an assistant professor, employed as part of an academic/scientific project, scientific staff member)

4 doctoral candidates and 4 post-doctoral candidates will be selected from each university for the program.

The application deadline for the second round of the 2019-2021 Career_Mentoring III Program is over. We are no longer accepting applications.

Program

Women Doctoral Candidates

  • Professional face-to-face mentoring sessions during the entire program period: professional mentoring relationship between mentors and mentees consisting of phone and e-mail contact as well as at least three personal meetings between the mentor and mentee; Objective: professional support, access to corresponding contacts and networks
  • Six Modules for doctoral candidates on corresponding issues
  • Three Internal Feedback Sessions at the University with the program managers at each university
  • Network Meetings between post-doc candidates, doctoral candidates and mentors
  • Up to 4 individual coaching sessions according to the participant

Women Post-Doctoral Candidates

  • Professional face-to-face mentoring sessions during the entire program period: professional mentoring relationship between mentors and mentees consisting of phone and e-mail contact as well as at least three personal meetings between the mentor and mentee; Objective: professional support, access to corresponding contacts and networks
  • Drei Workshop Days ("Habilcampus") on consecutive days to address issues facing post-doc candidates
  • Three Workshops over the course of the program
  • Three Internal Feedback Sessions at the University with the program managers at each university
  • Network Meetings between post-doc candidates, doctoral candidates and mentors
  • Up to 4 Individual Coaching Sessions per participant

Organizational Information

  • Employees at the universities in Linz, Salzburg and Krems pay a course fee of € 250
  • Participants are responsible for covering any travel and accommodation expenses; accommodations in Gmunden will be paid by the universities
  • Participation for individual dates is binding. After completing at least 75% of all parts of the program, the mentees receive a confirmation of successful completion of the Career_Mentoring III program
  • The program will be held in German
