As part of the summer program week for children, 10 artists between the ages of 6 and 12 attended the hands-on workshop "Kidsversity meets UNIO" which, among other things, focused on music by Russian composer Modes Mussorgsky.

The children’s artwork will be on public display at the Brucknerhaus Linz during the JKU University Orchestra’s 40th anniversary concert on November 21, 2019; the children will attend the concert as guests of honor.

During the creative workshop, university orchestra members spent the morning with the children teaching them about various instruments such as the clarinet, trombone, violin, cello and double bass. The children were also invited to try their hand at playing the instruments and with some guided assistance, the budding musicians were even able to produce simple melodies. At the end, the children formed a small orchestra and played the song "Bruder Jakob" together.
