June: Inaugural Lectures by New Faculty in Business and in Law

Traditional inaugural lectures by new professors took place at the JKU in June.

The Faculty of Law kicked the event off on Wednesday, June 8 (5:00 PM in the JKU’s Ceremony Room). Prof. Helmut Hirtenlehner’s (Institute for Procedural Justice) inaugural lecture titled "Normakzeptanz und Sanktionierungswahrscheinlichkeit" provided insight into his area of research. The Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business followed suit on Monday, June 13 (4:00 PM in the JKU’s Ceremony Room). Univ. Prof. Henriett Primecz (Institute of International Management) inaugural lecture titled "Paradigm Plurality in Cross-Cultural Management" illustrated the research paradigms that tend to dominate cross-cultural management and why critical approaches are becoming increasingly important. Univ. Prof. Georg Hans Neuweg (Institute for Business and Vocational Education) followed with his inaugural lecture titled "Bildung an der Universität", pointing out that experience-based learning is best acquired in life.
