The JKU's development plan outlines a defined course of action designed to actively support the university's development and strategic growth. The plan aims to continue sharpening the university's profile, expanding on its strengths, and addressing new topics as part of an intra-systematic development.
Keeping in line with the university's mission, the JKU aims to structurally enhance its profile by continuing to develop its organizational system along a matrix that includes creating interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research groups and supporting a research approach that provides internal, competitive university funding. Research-led teaching will include a quality offensive to develop interdisciplinary degree programs such as Fundamentals of Natural Sciences for Technology (NaSciTech), Medical Engineering, and Business Psychology. In addition, advancements in modern engineering in Linz include combining core expertise in mechatronics and polymer engineering to create a new program in mechanical engineering.
