JKU Business School Lunch Time Seminar Review

The JKU Business School Lunch Time Seminar took place on 9. November 2023. Two exciting presentations gave an insight into the Business School's current research.

DI Daniel Lehner (Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik - Software Engineering) presented a large research project on the topic of "What's a Digital Twin, and why do you need a better one?". The researchers are looking into the question of how holistic digital twins of physical objects can be engineered efficiently. His slides are available here, opens an external URL in a new window.

Mag. Sara Maric (Institut für Organisation) presented the results of a qualitative study entitled "Digital Capitalism without Firms? Consequences for the Organisation and Regulation of Work from an Employment Systems Perspective". The research wanted to find out which employment-like systems are enabled in digital labour platforms.

Prof. Dr. Barbara Krumay (Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik - Information Engineering) and Assoc. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Katharina Hofer (Institut für Handel, Absatz und Marketing - International Marketing) were available as discussants.

The event was organised by Assoc. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dipl.-Kffr. Birgit Grüb-Martin (Institut für Management Accounting) and Ass.-Prof. MMag. Dr. Thomas Brunner-Kirchmair (Institut für betriebliche Finanzwirtschaft/Corporate Finance).

Afterwards, the discussions were continued and deepened with sandwiches and drinks provided by the JKU Business School.

The next Lunch Time Seminar will take place on 28 February 2024 from 12:30-14:00. It will be a roundtable with a focus on "Research Funding".

The Lunch Time Seminar is a series of events organised by the Mittelbau Fachbereich BWL/WIN - Business School. The aim is an informal exchange among colleagues, the opportunity to present current research projects and to receive feedback.
