In front of an audience of over 1,000, JKU microelectronics expert Nikolaus Doppelhammer (Institute for Microelectronics and Microsensor Technology) prevailed over geologist Michael Meyer in a close neck-and-neck race for the Austrian Science Slam title in Innsbruck. Nine academic researchers and scientists presented their topics in a unique, entertaining, and comprehensible way. Doppelhammer's musical performance "Die Kunst des Atomsiebens" came in for the win. Doppelhammer qualified for the finals by winning the Upper Austrian title in April and he will now represent Austria at the European Science Slam Championships.
