Priv.-Doz. Dr. Thomas Ratschiller Receives Venia Legendi/Habilitation Certificate

Dr. Ratschiller, an expert in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, was presented with his venia legend/habilitation certificate.

In the presence of his family and several colleagues, Vice-Rector Dr. Elgin Drda and Dr. Andreas Gruber, Dean of Research, presented OA Dr. Thomas Ratschiller with his venia legend/habilitation certificate in the subject area "Herz-, Gefäß- und Thoraxchirurgie" on September 28, 2021. OA Dr. Ratschiller earned his teaching authorization with his paper titled "Der Aortenklappenersatz beim jungen Patienten: Langzeitergebnisse der Ross Operation".

About Dr. Thomas Ratschiller

Born in South Tyrol, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Thomas Ratschiller studied medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck. He earned a doctorate degree at the Technical University of Munich in 2014. Between 2002 and 2021, he worked as an assistant physician for surgery at the University Hospital Innsbruck and at the BKH Kufstein, followed by a position as an assistant physician for cardiac surgery at the German Heart Center in Munich. Dr. Ratschiller began working at the Kepler University Hospital in October 2014 and since September 2016, he has been senior physician for cardiovascular surgery at the Kepler University Hospital.
