As we face grave challenges and crises on a daily basis, how can we make sure our actions continue to initiate positive globally-effective change processes? We need new approaches and new expertise and as part of a new and unique Bachelor's degree program, Transformation Studies. Art x Science, this is what YOU will generate!
How do I launch, generate, maintain, and manage a transdisciplinary research study or initiative that involves different parties, especially regarding issues that include sustainability (recycling, etc.)? How do I involve different stakeholders so that a project has extra, added value? How do I manage the creative process in order to come up with as many innovative ideas as possible? Your Bachelor's degree in Transformation Studies qualifies you to contribute, coordinate, and mediate complex projects designed to address current change processes.
You have space to pursue visionary ideas as well as apply your creativity, imagination, and your love of experimentation! You will learn more in-depth about current transformations (digitalization, sustainability, etc.) as well as design tools, artistic and scientific methodologies and work practices. In addition, you will draw on your creative, transformative power to envision new solutions designed to address society's challenges.
The University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Johannes Kepler University Linz have partnered to create the inter-university Art x Science School for Transformation and offer a unique Bachelor's degree program.

What Makes This Program Special
- Study in both Vienna and Linz, learning more about the infrastructure and educational system at both universities, the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
- The program introduces you to a unique combination of artistic and academic/scientific approaches, methods, and strategies. Career Prospects
A Bachelor's degree in Transformation Studies. Art x Science will qualify you to work in the following areas:
- You will support, design and execute projects and transformative processes at public institutions, in the academic/scientific field, or in the private sector. In doing so, you play a mediatory role between the various players and stakeholders.
- Your Bachelor's degree prepares you to enroll in advanced interdisciplinary Master's degree programs and courses at the JKU Linz and/or at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

In order to be admitted to the Bachelor's degree program, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Hold general higher education entrance qualifications (such as an Austrian "Matura" diploma)
- Language certificate for English level B2
- Successfully pass the admissions procedure at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
