Welcome Week is an opportunity to get to know your university before starting your studies, meet classmates and fellow students as well as learn everything you need to know for a successful start to your university experience.

Please note. Workshop Week will take place between September 25 - 29, before Welcome Week!
Between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, there will be free short workshop sessions every day during this week designed to help you prepare for the start of the upcoming Winter Semester! Detailed information about the workshops, topics and schedule are available in the PDF file below. The workshops have been organized by the Office of Student Psychological Counseling Linz and are open to all students.
After checking in at the Kepler Hall, you can pick up your JKU ‘swag bag’ and then get ready to explore the campus! Use your voucher to get your swag bag (you will receive the voucher via e-mail once you have been admitted to the university). If you are studying medicine, you can pick up your swag bag directly at the MED campus.

During Welcome Week, JKU campus tours are available every day at different times and you can choose a tour according to your major and when it is most convenient for you!

Are you interested in working while studying, do you need help with the application process, or do you need information about financial aid, grants and scholarships? Are you studying and also require childcare services? Are things a bit tough at the moment in your studies or in your personal life and you would like to talk to someone you can trust?
We offer many different services on campus to help you during your studies, ranging from making friends to managing your time more efficiently. Welcome Week is an opportunity to learn more about these services and talk with representatives directly.
You can book appointments as follows between Monday and Thursday:
During Welcome Week, you will have a unique opportunity to experience Design Thinking by taking part in a short session at the Raiffeisen Innovation Center's new Design Thinking workshop. Conducted by Design Thinking coaches at the RLB OÖ's Innovation Hub, the Design Thinking Dash will take place Monday to Thursday between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Have we piqued your interest? Then stop by and enjoy a free cup of coffee on us at the Raiffeisen Innovation Center @ the JKU Bank Building. No advanced registration is required - first-come, first-served.
Games, sports & fun are also part of starting your studies! Try out classes offered by the University Sports Institute (USI) or join in on the fun and practice your team spirit playing tournaments at the Raiffeisen OÖ-Freizeitarea. Additional events will take place at the Kepler Hall, at the Circus of Knowledge and at the JKU MED Campus (Krankenhausstrasse 5, 4020 Linz).
On Wednesday, October 4, starting at 4:15 PM, join our social media manager, Gregor, on a tour of the JKU! Discover places you don't normally have access to as a student. You are, of course, invited to take photos to post on your Insta account. Finish the tour by enjoying the sunset at the Somnium, the perfect photo spot!
The group size is limited to 10 and spots for this tour will be raffled off among those who sign up! So, sign up now and with a little luck, you can join in on the fun!
We would like to extend a special invitation to sign up for our campus tours, the Welcome Info Session, and the Scavanger Hunt (which will be held in English).
Let us provide you with important information for international students, especially at the start of your studies! If you have any questions or concerns, stop by the International Welcome Center (IWC) any time between 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We have organized three detailed information sessions (9:00 AM / 12.30 PM / 3.30 PM) of approx. 15 - 20 minutes each. These information sessions will cover a variety of important points, including contact information and campus services. We will also give you a list of important links about living and studying in Austria.
Coffee and cake will be provided! :-)

New in town? Let us show you around! Or better yet, find your own way through Linz! Explore the city of Linz as part of a fun and informative activity! You'll not only discover cool places to chill and hang out, but will also learn a few things about the city's history!
We will form 4 groups (a max. of 8 people per group), and start the Scavenger Hunt at the JKU Kepler Hall, ending in the Altstadt Linz.
What to bring: A good sense of humor and fun, and a rain jacket, just in case.
