RELATIFS: THE INTERPERSONAL GETS POLITICAL

Feminist Micropolitics and the Problem of Scale

For more than a half century, many scholars of communication have argued that “the interpersonal” is an important micropolitical domain in which otherwise diff use formations – authoritarianism, heteropatriarchy, anti-Black racism – manifest themselves in practice. Even as they hold out hope that their knowledge can help transform the world from the ground up, these scholars have continued to struggle with questions of “scale” that also vex social movement activists.
